Ilanz – The cradle of Graubünden

Magnificent patrician houses decorated with coats of arms in Ilanz's old town bear witness to Ilanz's important role in the old Free State of the Three Leagues. This is where decisions were made, contracts were negotiated and history was written. The Reformation in Graubünden began in St. Margarethen Church. The interior of the church is a real treasure trove for visitors. After decades of quiet existence, the old town is now undergoing a careful and, in our opinion, successful revival. It is a place steeped in history that amazes its visitors.
