Lepanto and the brave women

The hamlet of Pleif to the south-east of Vella has been the spiritual center of Lumnezia since time immemorial. The impressive valley church of S. Vintschegn stands here with its magnificent furnishings. Legends surround this place: the Valerusas, the warlike Lumnezian women, have been sitting in the pews on the right since 1352. A huge painting commemorates the sea battle of Lepanto.
